Barbie and Ken visit the Florida Keys, aka Jenell and Luke. Talk about a perfect couple in a perfect location. I am no stranger to Destination Engagements in the Florida Keys and this one is for the books. Stretches of white sand and palm trees make an incredible backdrop for an Islamorada engagement session.
The Florida Keys is one of the best locations for Engagement photos. Keep scrolling to see why Islamorada’s tropical vibes and incredible weather make it a destination engagement dream come true.
Some of the best times to visit the Florida Keys are in late April to early June and November to mid-December. Jenell and Luke had planned a trip to visit their uncle at his home in Islamorada. They live in Michigan and if you are not familiar with Michigan’s winters well let us just say it’s freezing cold. So Jenell and Luke thought what better time and place to take their engagement photos than when they were in the Florida Keys.
The tropical climate in the Florida Keys is like a warm hug. It truly makes for some of the best weather when getting your engagement photos taken.
Here in Florida, five unique destinations are the Key West, the Lower Keys, Marathon, Islamorada, and Key Largo. Islamorada or Village of Islands is only a short drive from Miami. It is one of my absolute favorite locations to take my couples visiting or planning a destination engagement. We started out their engagement at Moornings Resort which has endless white sandy beaches and palm trees. Then we went across the street to Morada Bay to catch the sunset.
I always have a tropical state of mind when I am photographing in Islamorada. How could you not?
We had so much fun running around in the sand. We explored the area and went over onto the dock at sunset. They are such a beautiful couple. Also, can we talk about how gorgeous Jenell’s striking blue eyes are? Seriously stunning! I am also obsessed with her engagement ring. It is freaking amazing!
