This Friday Harbor elopement is one for the books. Monique and Kaleigh had an intimate ceremony at Pelindaba Lavender Field with close family in attendance. These two were so completely in love it was amazing to witness. I am so thankful they chose me to document this monumental moment in their lives!

I’d like to share a little passage the bride, Kaleigh, had to say about the day. I love how real she is about whats important on the big day.

For us, the saying “you only get married once” couldn’t be any more true. When we did our first looks, both of us had a huge sigh of relief and said that we are literally never doing this again (mostly because that morning was so stressful ?). It wasn’t a fairytale, though pictures would suggest otherwise …and yes a baby deer did run through this grassy patch just prior to this moment. However, the day required flexibility, relinquishing expectations as well as control. Life is filled with stressors (and if fortunate, minor ones like a pimple in the center of your forehead or a bird pooping on you, twice, on your wedding day). It’s also filled with so much beauty and love. I’m so fortunate Monique is willing to roll with it all. She meets my faults with compassion and my mistakes with patience. She is by my side through the most stunning and the most painful of moments ? I’ll hold onto that for as long as she’ll allow

Last week I got together with a few other Whidbey Island photographers at Rosario Beach and had a shootout with the Shaw Family. This beautiful family is expecting their second baby and I am so excited for them! They are amazing photographers and I promise they are not super models! 🙂 Kelsey was really glowing in that golden light and she rocked this gorgeous Fillyboomaternity Dress!

I have lived about an hour away from Hurricane ridge for almost 9 months and thanks to Molly + Steve, I FINALLY got to explore this magical mountaintop. I only wish I made it up there sooner! Molly + Steve are an awesome couple with an adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors. I had the best time getting to know them as we hiked around and chatted about their future as Mr + Mrs. Looking forward to their big day in just a few months on the beautiful Whidbey Island!
